Scottish Prince Wreck, Gold Coast

The Scottish Prince Wreck, a three steel-masted, 64-metre iron barque ship, is located 800 metres off the Gold Coast's Southport Spit. It sank in 1887 as it was sailing from Glasgow, Scotland to Brisbane with a cargo of whisky, mousetraps, linen and other assorted items. Today, only the hull of the ship remains.

These days, the Scottish Prince is an underwater sunken treasure and provides the perfect habitat for a variety of marine life including sponges, crayfish, corals, surface and reef fish, rays, octopus and wobbegong sharks.
